Knee Pain

The client was struggling with knee pain and stiffness after running and playing weekly local level football. Thermal imaging was used to provide an insight to the location and extent of inflammation.

In the first image there is a considerable amount of inflammation in the right knee and shin and some distinctive hotspots in the left knee. Based on the severity of the abnormal pattern, it was decided that the GP was the best place to start. X-rays later determined moderate arthritis in the left knee which was more established and new arthritic changes in the right knee.

After researching treatment options and the priority being to find something drug free if possible. It was decided that cryotherapy would be an ideal option to try given it's impressive results with helping to reduce inflammation. After just one session of cryotherapy thermal imaging was performed again to monitor the efficacy of the treatment plan. The second image shows the result after just one session and the reduction in inflammation is outstanding!

Thermal imaging was able to quickly and accurately map and identify the issue and aid in making decisions as to the next steps. It was also able to provide evidence of how well the treatment option was working.
